Desert Dweller

(16” x 20” ink on matte board)

Desert Dweller is my biggest flash sheet to date. All the imagery was inspired by the beautiful but deadly Southwest. I travel around the four corners as much as possible to hike and explore cultural sites, learning about the land, the people, and myself along the way. My favorite way to synthesize knowledge is through creating artwork, because I can reflect on the lessons I’ve learned, make connections, and piece together reality as I understand it. I think the Southwest will continue to influence my art because in my eyes its an incredibly unique place like no other in the world.
